My daughter is also a freshman-same college as your daughter-a non-driver and a swimmer.sassx006https://www.blogger.com/profile/18135147737350901083noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8654887465201994138.post-18459011744548523252021-09-06T10:24:54.584-05:002021-09-06T10:24:54.584-05:00Beautiful post. I'm always second guessing if I've done enough and made their childhood one of learning and joy. I guess we'll never really know. I also don't think any childhood can be perfect or ideal. We did our best and I have moments of confirming we did ok when I get a text about how they adulted, or see them being good friends, siblings or older cousins. Little words of wisdom from someone who's done and is doing the college years: 1. it never gets easy dropping off. I cry every time even when I know they are happy and where they need to be; and 2. they still need you even out of college. The parenting never stops, but it gets balanced with some nice moments of friendship. They also come home for winter and summer breaks :)

Hang in there friend. From what I see/read on this blog, you've done a great job with each of your three.

Peghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02162890081910497200noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8654887465201994138.post-52211513634678359472021-09-06T07:33:47.482-05:002021-09-06T07:33:47.482-05:00I love this. But I also try to push him to be as independent as possible because I know I can’t, and really wouldn’t want to, keep him from the world forever. Of course that means he will leave me soon and I don’t think I will be able to hold off the tears as long as you did! I only get one shot at this.

Also, from what I’ve seen you are an AMAZING mom! All the crafts and costumes, holding down the fort when your husband was away, all while running a business, playing music and literally building instruments. What an example to set!
Melissahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06281356809800081858noreply@blogger.com
