I didn't even know what a blog was, but I was fascinated by the sincerety and the strength of women's voices. Granted, I may be a bit older and childless, not by choice, but I still felt and feel we have plenty in common. Our loves, worries, hapiness and sadness may have different sources, but are by no means less or more. I only wish my friends and I were so brave to be a bit more vocal and present online. So, for now I am a reader and not a blogger and I'd like to thank you for being so wonderful and so sincere in sharing your world. It's funny, reading your writing makes me feel we have a sort of companionship and, for a lack of a better word, more normal. Before my archive vanished I was upset because if you did a Google search for any of my writing there it came up, but under other people's names, and I wanted to let someone know. I also wanted to ask someone about any legal ramifications of reprinting any of that old writing elsewhere in case I want to make any of it into a book, or sell something still relevant to another site. But there is no way to find a person there anymore. Babble is now like some sort of bland placeholder site. It's something to click through but not something to care about. It reminds me of the unmemorable magazines I see lying around at my dentist's office. Which I guess is what Disney wants: something nonthreatening that vaguely looks like they care about parents.Korinthiahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15580286551375780490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8654887465201994138.post-56528467138014204222015-09-29T09:09:00.083-05:002015-09-29T09:09:00.083-05:00Ah, yes, there was a time when Babble was enjoyabl...Ah, yes, there was a time when Babble was enjoyable! There is so much I would put up here if I could because I know people would find it interesting, but I always stop and imagine how it will impact my kids if they find it in a search in five or ten years, or how I would feel if people did that to me.

And Disney should have just said, "Nah, we're going in a new direction so we're letting people go," because at least that makes sense. The "making ends meet" is hilarious because they make up for a lifetime of paying me with just one day of one row of parking at Disneyworld. What Disney really did was neuter Babble. Babble made themselves noticed in the parenting world, put up some extra shiny window dressing to attract Disney so Disney would buy them up to eliminate competition, and then they gutted it of anything controversial or useful. There are still some good people writing good things here and there, but it's not by design. It's sad.Korinthiahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15580286551375780490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8654887465201994138.post-73165761933001535582015-09-28T13:59:17.761-05:002015-09-28T13:59:17.761-05:00I know my husband scraped the site and has copies ...I know my husband scraped the site and has copies of my old posts somewhere on his computer, but yeah, I should just buckle down one night and do a copy/paste-a-thon. I don't write nearly as much as I used to. I think for me, it's gotten more difficult as the girls have gotten older as I can't share as much about the parenting as I could when they were toddlers. Some toddler things are universal and we all understand because we've all "been there, done that". And, while the same may hold true as the girls age, it seems more personal somehow.

As for you and Disney not being able to make ends meet, seriously? OMG. Ridiculous. Again, so glad you're here. :o)Rachhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09317328366288947798noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8654887465201994138.post-28357191638152248412015-09-28T10:23:01.275-05:002015-09-28T10:23:01.275-05:00Re. I have since followed all of you off to other sites or your own. I enjoyed Babble when it started, but definitely prefer the content I get since you all branched out. I will say that you and Jane continue to be my favorite bloggers, and the ones I have followed the longest.

Reading your writing is consistently my favorite internet thing, and I eagerly look forward to each new entry. I remember when you guys moved and you remodeled the garage, I was so excited when you took my suggestion to paint a mural on the garage wall! And, two summers ago when my husband and I were in Milwaukee for a friends wedding, I came to see you at your store. You were so friendly, and I always remember how welcoming you were even though we were strangers.

I hope you keep blogging for a long time, I would miss you if you stopped. My children are younger than yours and I consistently find myself following your example, wondering what you would do, or reassuring myself that you would approve! It sounds silly, but it's hard to find examples of parenting that fall in line with my own feelings.

Thank you so much for putting yourself out there, and please don't let your smaller audience discourage you, we would miss you terribly if you stopped writing.

the_houghhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05020397088132261497noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8654887465201994138.post-86979024190230534752015-09-27T12:37:11.275-05:002015-09-27T12:37:11.275-05:00Gosh, has it been six years?
